Grace and Proper Grand Opens in South Philly by Hawthornes Restaurant Group

Hawthorne's Restaurant Group announces the grand opening of Grace and Proper at 941 S. 8th Street this Friday at 4:00pm. Husband-wife duo Chris Fetfatzes and Heather Annechiarico have teamed up with their long-time operations director Susan Freeman on the opening of this new vintage Eurobar located in the Italian Market. Grace and Proper is named and designed to celebrate both the New and Old World together, where classy meets comfortable. While the Portuguese-inspired food menu will surely entice locals and visitors, it is the cocktails and wines that will be the star of the show at this latest addition to the thriving Philadelphia bar scene. The 660 square ft. space will offer seating inside and outside for 70+ guests, with bar and high-top seating. Opening hours will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 4:00pm to Midnight, Friday and Saturday, Noon to 1:00am, and Sunday, Noon to Midnight. Grace and Proper is closed on Tuesdays to the public, but bookable for private and special events.

Hawthorne Beer Café (738 S. 11th Street) is reviving its storied beer-centric block party, and adding booze and bubbly to the mix. Hawthornes Beer, Booze and Bubbly Block Party will take over 11th Street (from Fitzwater to Catherine) on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 11:00am to 7:00pm. The usual lineup of parked cars will be replaced with craft beer trucks, big sound bands, and street food eats. Look for $6 local and craft brew pours from your favorites like La Cabra, Conshohocken, Tröegs, Victory, Flying Fish, Yards, Two Roads and more. Food trucks will include French Toast Bites by Lokal Artisan Foods, The Little Scillian, Korea Taqueria, Cloud Cups, Jammin J's, Barkley's BBQ and others to be announced. The music line-up will include The Mini Q's, The Sermon, Snacktime and DJ Adrian Hardy. This all-day, all-ages event is rain or shine. Admission is free and open to the public. This is a cash only event, with drink tickets available at the entrance. Hawthornes will be closed inside for normal seating.
